Agua de Pina – Mexican Pineapple Water

Agua de pina (Spanish for “cool waters”, or literally “fresh waters”) are light non-alcoholic beverage. They are popular in Mexico, Central America, and parts of the United States such as the Southwest. It is a fresh pineapple sweet water and it is very refreshing to drink during hot summer months. Agua de pina are easy to make and can be made with just about any fruit. They are natural, healthy, and are inexpensive when made with seasonal fruit.

4 cups fresh pineapple chunks |
2 cups granulated sugar |
8 cups water |
Ice cubes |
HOW TO MAKE AGUA DE PINA:
This healthy drink is prepared in a few steps as all ingredients are first blended and mixed well in a pitcher, and taste is added according to the preferences and then it chilled in the refrigerator for taste enhancement. When served chilled with ice cubes, it brings freshness in the body and makes one feel good. It release tension and is a very healthy drink for consumption without any preservative. - Place the pineapple cubes, sugar, and 1 cup of water in the blender and liquefy.
- Strain mixture into a bowl then transfer the pineapple water to a pitcher. Add the remaining water to your pitcher and mix well. Taste and add more sugar or water if needed.
- Chill it in the refrigerator for several hours before serving.
- Serve chilled with ice.
