Bionico-Mexican Fruit Cup
History :
Bionico is a popular Mexican dessert that originated in the city of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, in the early 1990s. Any kind of fruit can be used, but it is most made commonly made with apple, papaya, strawberries, cantaloupe. This dish is one of the best creations of Mexican street food. It was originally intended to be a healthy breakfast item. Some seasonal fresh fruit can be used.
Ingredients For Bionico :
1/3 cup plain yogurt | 1 cup strawberries, cantaloupe, papaya, pineapple, apple diced |
1/3 cup Mexican cream or sour cream | 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk |
1 tsp vanilla | 1/4 cup chopped pecans |
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut | 1/2 cup raisins |
1/2 cup plain granola |
Method/Preparations :
- Mix the diced fruit in a medium-size bowl and set aside or place in the refrigerator to keep it cool.
- In a second bowl, combine sour cream, yogurt & sweetened condensed milk. Add vanilla extract and stir until well incorporated.
- Divide the fruit into the cups. Top each cup each granola, raisins, coconut and pecans.
- Drizzle of the crema mixture over each fruit cup.
